Corporate Overview:

Citigroup(C) is constituted into four major groups:

  1. Global Consumer Banking Services - Credit Cards, Loans, Insurance
  2. Markets and Banking – Globally across 100 countries
  3. Alternative Investments – Globally across 100 countries
  4. Global Wealth Management - Citigroup private bank, Smith Barney ( Private Wealth Management) , Citigroup Investment Research – for private and institutional Clients

    Important Numbers for Citibank from Q1 2008 :
    1. Global consumer is the largest source of revenue for Citibank, while Markets and Banking are the segments where citi is losing the most on revenues
2. The commissions and fees are going south because of the slowing US Economy, but as the economy goes up, these revenues would recover to normal levels. Following graph indicate commissions & fees from various divisions and percentage increase in dollar amounts from Q1 2007

3. The restructuring costs have meager ($15m) compared to previous years, although majority of allocated cost of restructuring is in Global Consumer Segment

4. Close to $51B exposure in Mortgage loans and collateralized mortgage securities. Other equities and debt also susceptible to major devaluation
